Have You Ever Wondered If You’re Dressing Too Much Or Too Less For Your Occasion? Well I Have Cook up This Easy To Follow Guide To Take That Worry Away!
Whether You’re Going To A Wedding, Party, Or Brunch You Can Apply This Method To Any Outfit. Let’s Get Straight To The Point! There Are 2 Simple Steps You’ll Need To Understand To Use This Formula.
First Step: Segments
First Let’s Talk Segments,
Segments are the category of each piece of clothing. For example, 1 segment equals top. 2nd segment = bottom. In total you’ll have 6 segments which includes (Top,Bottom,Shoes,Accessories,Hair, and Makeup). Every piece of your body part counts basically.
Second Step: Point Scale
Next step to understand is the points scale. So for each segment that we recently discussed you will give yourself a point. The goal is to get at least 6-8 points for your total. 10 points is ok but that means anything more is a little over doing it. 5points is good as well this just means you're dressed casual. It all just depends on what you feel comfortable with!
6-8 points = Put together outfit
Less than 6 Points= Sloppy, Casual look
More than 8 points = May come off as trying to hard depending on occasion and your aesthetic look
Now that we discussed the basics let’s get into actually scoring your fit.
If you have loud and bold items those are worth 2 points
Solid,neutral, and basic items are worth 1 point
Examples
So now let’s review a quick example
Top: White graphic tee = 1 point
Bottom: Grey Stacked Leggings = 1 Point
Shoes: Chestnut Uggs = 2 Points
Accessories: Bracelets & Earrings = 1-2 points
Hair: Long deepwave wig = 2 points
Makeup: Little to no makeup = 1 point
Total = 7 points
Example 2 ( Careless Ambition Clothing Items)
Top: Green sparkly long sleeve criss cross top = 2 points
Bottom: Wrap up asymmetrical skirt black = 2 points
Accessories: Black mini purse = 2 points
Hair: Natural Afro puff = 2 Points
Makeup: Soft beat = 2 points
Total= 10 points
Easy right? Just like I told you! As you get more familiar with this formula you can play around with everything in your closet eventually you can buy new clothes that can fit the aesthetic you’re looking for!
Remember this is not a strict guide to use; you can play around with it if you feel a particular item is worth more than 2 points, label it as 3 points. This is just a tool to use, which will lead you into your perfect aesthetic wardrobe!
